because you know us...

Just want to throw it out there that we're totally cool with people asking questions about all of this. I know that no one quite knows what to say... and that's fine. We have no expectations that anyone will have just the right thing to say in this situation.

A few of our dearest friends have said, "I know that this isn't happening to me, but..." And to that I say nonsense. It IS happening to you because you know us. And we want you all to be free to ask questions and process this information too. If I can help with that please let me know.

  4. Hi! I gather from your posts that P has smoldering MM. I "smoldered" (isn't that the weirdest term?) for a year and a half before I needed treatment; I have heard of people who have smoldered for years and years. New myeloma drugs are being developed all the time. By the time he needs treatment (if he ever does) there could be even more treatment options available. MM is no fun, but there is hope. Hang in there!

  5. hey its amy w. here (of amy & ben now living in CT). Just wanted to say that we are and will continue to pray. for healing, for hope and mostly for God to be so close, for his presence to bring such comfort and peace and laughter as to make this time richer than any previous.

  6. DAVID CROWDER:

    Lord I'm tired
    So tired from walking
    And Lord I'm so alone
    And Lord the dark
    Is creeping in
    Creeping up
    To swallow me
    I think I'll stop
    Rest here a while

And didn't You see me cry'n?
And didn't You hear me call Your name?
Wasn't it You I gave my heart to?
    I wish You'd remember
    Where you sat it down

    Chorus:
And this is all that I can say right now
And this is all that I can give

    Bridge:
I didn't notice You were standing here
    I didn't know that
    That was You holding me
    I didn't notice You were cry'n too
    I didn't know that
That was You washing my feet

WE LOVE YOU GUYS AND WILL BE PRAYING OFTEN!

  9. My sister (45 years old) received the call from her doctor last night that she has MM. None of us had ever heard of it before so of course I have been on the computer the better part of the day trying to educate myself on it.

She had been having issues with her kidneys and they took 7 biopsies of her kidneys last week and the doctor had just gotten the results back from the mayo clinic.

Her kidney doctor has set her up with an appointment on Friday with a cancer and hematology doctor. Hopefully we will get a clearer understanding of what she is up against at that time.

My head is still kinda spinning at this point. I am thankful to people like you who blog about it so that people like me can read about it from a person living it and not just the medical side of it.

Please feel free to e-mail me with anything you think you wish you had been told when you first found out about your husband.

I just found your blog so I will try to read through it as I have spare time (I have 4 kids so there isn't a lot of that, wink)
