After seeing my M-spike on the rise for 6 months I was ecstatic to find out that it has dropped to 2.4 in just over 6 weeks (was 2.9). I am starting to think that coffee accelerates myeloma! I gave up coffee for lent, so in between blood tests I didn't have one drop of coffee.
Also, my IgG is at 3100, which is consistent with my last test. I haven't gotten the full list of results, but the numbers that Dr. J seems to always focus on seem to be coming back more on the positive side; which I guess is considered more on the negative side in terms of disease management :)
Yay.

Yay! My favorite number is also 4, but I don't want to see it show up on your test results :)
Ooh, coffee! That has got to be tough. Feel for you bro. Very excited to hear about the droppage though. Keep it up! Errr, down.

hmmm, I'm not sure if it would be coffee, but do you put sugar in your coffee? Cancer loves sugar. In fact there are lots of studies out there that say that sugar speeds up cancer. Just FYI :)
That's wonderful news!!! Jumping for joy over here!
so glad to hear this! at the risk of sounding like a 40 year old church lady, praise God!
Hate to throw in a word of caution, but when my M-Spike was 2.7 and IgG was 2960 I had a PET scan at Mayo which showed holes forming in my bones, even though calcium levels were normal and I felt fine. I was in Stage I and treatment had to be started.
I wonder what Dr J would say about a PET scan? It's recently been approved for myeloma by Medicare; other insurances may be following suit.
So this was a long time ago, but it may be a miracle happening. I think that coffee always does more hard than good in my body and I have MM. I got back on coffee when I started chemo because of winter and I was so tired. I also am eating more sugar b/c of the season and being tired and not able to walk well to get good endorphins and anxiety about if I should do stem cell. Anyways, was praying for zero m spike when came across your post!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks! Now prayer for me to be able to function without it and sugar and get back on my green and health world. how are you now so many years later?
